in the future:the time that will come after the present or the events that will happen then:在將來、未來
例：No one can foresee what will happen in the future.沒人能預(yù)見將來會發(fā)生什么事.
1.in future ＝ from now on 意為“今后,以后”,常指離現(xiàn)在較近的一段將來時間.強(qiáng)調(diào)與過去相對照,過去是什么情況,今后將是什么情況.
如：Don't do that in future．以后別再干那種事了.
You'd better not go out alone in future．今后最好別單獨(dú)外出.
Be more careful with your spelling in future/from now on.
今后要更加注意你的拼寫.
2.in the future ＝in time yet to come 意為“將來”,常指包括in future在內(nèi)的較遠(yuǎn)
的將來一段時間.in the near future指“在不久的將來”.如：
Who knows what will happen in the future 誰知道將來會發(fā)生什么事?
I'm sure he will come to understand this in the near future．
我敢肯定在不久的將來他會慢慢明白這一點(diǎn)的.
3.for the future常意為“為將來”.如：
It is necessary to plan for the future．對未來進(jìn)行規(guī)劃是必要的.
【注】in future常指將來某一時間,in the future常指全部的將來,在日常英語中,有時這兩個短語的區(qū)別并不十分明顯.
