The grass is always greener/這山望著那山高
和這個(gè)慣用語(yǔ)基本相當(dāng)?shù)闹形恼f(shuō)法是“這山望著那山高”.意思就是說(shuō)得不到的總是看起來(lái)更誘人一些,總是比已經(jīng)擁有的好.常常只說(shuō)The grass is always greener,而省略后面的on the other side of the fence.
比如說(shuō),剛開(kāi)始你覺(jué)得沒(méi)男朋友挺好,自由自在,but when you haven’t been out for a while you may start to envy of Grace’s dates with her handsome boy.:-) Oh well,the grass is always greener.是不是呢?
