6.4.3.4 Hazardous Area Enclosures
Enclosures shall be type OA that conform to NEMA 8 and 9,
and are classified for the area and the appropriate gas group
specified per NEMA 250.All applicable material,fixtures,
and construction procedures utilized in the manufacture of
enclosures for hazardous area rectifiers shall be rated by the
item manufacturer for the appropriate classification.The
equipment and enclosure shall be labeled,listed,or certified
for the appropriate area classification as defined by NEC.
Rectifiers for hazardous areas shall have all control
equipment mounted inside the oil enclosure.A separate
control enclosure is not required.However,explosion proof
meter enclosures with a see through face,and an externally
mounted explosion proof circuit breaker are required.
