Being a student is different from being a worker in three aspects. First, their goal is different. A worker's goal is to finish the work assigned by his/her boss in order to make a living. The work may not necessarily benefit the worker except earning salaries. A student however does his work to learn more knowledge; the goal of the learning process is self-enrichment instead of monkey earning. Secondly, their responsibility is different. Worker’s responsibility is to ensure the work is done smoothly so that the society or the company will get benefit out of the work; the worker may or may not get benefit from the work itself. A student’s work however may not necessarily benefit others such as his teacher or parents. But his work will definitely benefit himself. At last, their purpose is different. Worker’s purpose is to apply what they learnt to their work, whereas student’s purpose is to gather enough skills so that one day they can apply them to their job.
