查了下資料,確實有點confusing,是這樣的,
美國英國對于小數(shù)后面用單數(shù)和復數(shù)的情況都有.
美國出版局的界定是,-1 到 1 之間的小數(shù)用單數(shù),以外的用復數(shù).
比如說There was a melon.Now there are 0.3 melons.這樣就很奇怪,所以-1到1 用單數(shù)來處理這種情況就更合理.There is 0.3 melon.
另一種解釋是,0.3 melon 等于 0.3 of a melon,所以本質上還是a melon,即單數(shù).
但是在做數(shù)據(jù)的時候,比如central bank of UK英國中央銀行的報表里寫道“The previous change in Bank Rate was a reduction of 0.5 percentage points to 0.5% on 5 March 2009.”
注意里面的0.5 percentage points用了復數(shù)
而德國中央銀行German central bank 的報表里這樣寫：“The standardised unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point to 9.9%,compared with 8.0% a year earlier and 7.2% in March 2008.”
所以小數(shù)的單復數(shù)應該是都可以的,用在數(shù)據(jù)上都沒問題,如果用在東西上,-1到1之間用單數(shù).不客氣 ; )
