是不是Schools in Different Countries I am a new immigrant to the United States,and I spent about 19 years in China.According to my special identity,I experienced two different high schools.The high school where I studied in China was named No.3 Middle School of Fuzhou City.It is really a big school,including four school buildings and a large playground.My current school is Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day High School.This school has only one building,but it also includes a library,a gymnasium and some labs.There are many differences between these two schools.My current high school has a night program,but my previous school doesn’t.The schoolmates in my current school are from different countries.In the previous school,however,it would have been difficult to find a schoolmate who was not Fujianese.Each class only includes 10-12 people in my current school.In contrast,my previous school had 58-60 students in a class.However,the fundamental difference between the two schools is the concept of education.Because China’s Department of Education cares a lot about basic education,and all schools should follow the instructions of the departments,most of the students have heavy loads for college entrance examination.In contrast,it is more relaxed to study in an American high school,because the pressure of learning is not as high as in China.Therefore,I wish that China’s Department of Education would learn something from the United States,and Chinese students’ burdens would be relieved.
