Everyone was afraid of him and they had to listen to him . They knew clearly what would happen to them if they said “No” to him . Once the man was killed in a fight . His soldiers were told he was a spy ! One of his subordinates took his place . People began to discover his crimes . One day , at a meeting the new general said Mr. South was the worst man in their country . “You were one of his workmates , General ,” a soldier called out suddenly . “Why didn’t you stop him ?” “Who said that there ?” the general shouted angrily , staring at his soldiers . “Stand up !” Of course nobody stood up .
