With the development of the Internet and increasing necessity, more and more college students have access to the Internet at their dorms. As far as I am concerned, it's important to have the Internet installed at college dorms, but college students should make proper use of the Internet.
First of all, the Internet plays an irreplanceable role in college life. Students need it in different aspects of life. Papers are required to be done on computers and emailed to their tutors. Certain information should only be reached on the Internet. Distant communication is only possible via the Internet. In a word, without the Internet, college students could hardly survive.
However, as is commonly seen, many college students fail to use the Internet in a proper way. Take online games for example, which are popular not only with college students but also teenagers. Entertainment seems necessary and relaxing as well. However, some college students don't seem quite relaxed with playing online games. They spend nights playing them so that they fall asleep in daytime classes from time to time. Worse still, porn movies are frequently reported to be downloaded by college students.
In a word, we shouldn't ban the Internet at college dorms, but more education on how to use the Internet properly is needed.
