how much與how many的區(qū)別在于：how many 后接可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)形式,而how much 后接不可數(shù)名詞.例如：
－How many people are there in your family?你家有幾口人?
－There are five.五口人.
－How many birds can you see in the picture?圖畫中你能看見多少只鳥?
－Only one.僅看見一只鳥.
how much 是一個常見的特殊疑問詞組,它的意思為“多少”,表示數(shù)量,其后面接不可數(shù)名詞,也可單獨使用,它在初中課本里的用法主要有：
1、用來詢問事物的數(shù)量,后接不可數(shù)名詞.例如：
How much milk is there in the glass?玻璃杯里有多少牛奶?
How much bread is there on the table?桌子上有多少面包?
2、用來詢問事物的重量.例如：
－How much do you want to buy?你想要買多少?
－Two kilos.兩公斤.

注意：（1）how much 后接be動詞時,be 是單數(shù)還是復數(shù),取決于be之后的名詞.例如：
－How much are the parrots?這些胡蘿卜多少錢?
－Two yuan a kilo.兩元一公斤.
－How much is this coat 這件大衣多少錢?
－One hundred and fifty-three yuan.一百五十三元.
（2）how much詢問價格時,它的回答若是中國的貨幣單位應采用漢語拼音yuan,fen來表示,幾角常采用幾十分來表示,字母用小寫,且不用復數(shù).例如：
－How much is the eraser?這塊橡皮擦多少錢?
－Ninety two fen.九角二分.
（3）在買賣過程中,買方覺得太貴不買,常用That's much too dear.作答.如果覺得比較合適,常用That's (very,quite) cheap.
