Review the flashcards for previous units．
Step Two Set the scene
1.Ask the children if they like cakes．
2.Tell the children that in this unit’s story Ann,Ken and Mocky
made a cake．
Step Three Pre．story activity
1.Have the children open their books to pages 50．
2.Tell the children to look at the pictures and read the dialogs first．
3.Say．”What do they need to make a cake?Let’s find out．”
4.Say．”How does Ken make the cake?Let’s look at the steps．’’
5.Play the tape and have the children listen carefully．
Step Four Tell the story
1.Now draw the children’s attention to the text at the bottom of the pages．
2.The teacher reads the text aloud slowly with the children．
3.Play the tape．Have the children listen．
4.Play the tape again．
Step Five Homework
Have the children prepare a list of ingredients for their favorite food．
