Terry Wiltshire was a truck driver.He drove a huge truck from one end of the country to the other and ate most of his meals in roadside cafes.
On one occasion he drove up to a cafe and parked his truck.Then he went inside,and ordered a meal.A waitress took it to his table.
Terry was eating his meal and minding his own business when three bikers came into the cafe.They were big,rough men who rode motorcycles.They wore leather and had tattoos on their arms.
The bikers saw Terry sitting alone at a table eating his meal.They decided to have some fun with him.
The biggest biker walked up to him and said,"Buy us a meal."
Terry shook his head."I'm sorry.I don't buy meals for people I don't know."
"Then we'll soon make you know us," the leader of the bikers said,and pushed Terry.
Another of the bikers took Terry's food away from him and began eating it himself.
The third biker picked up Terry's cup of coffee and poured it all over Terry's head.
All this time,Terry said nothing.He did not even move.He sat quite still and let the bikers do what they liked.
When they were bored with their "fun",they walked away from him to another table.Then Terry stood up and left the cafe and drove away in his truck.
A waitress went to the bikers' table to get their order.
"Did you see that man?" the leader of the bikers said."What a coward!He just sat there while we pushed him around.He wasn't much of a man,was he?”
