一個(gè)關(guān)于there be 句型 謂語單復(fù)數(shù)的問題
一般情況下there be 句型其謂語形式我記得都應(yīng)該采取就近原則,如there is a pencil and two pens on the desk 和 there are two pens and a pencil on the desk都是正確的,但是我今天在新概念的書里面看到講解兩個(gè)名詞由and連接,其謂語的單復(fù)數(shù)問題時(shí),書里面說如果兩者是整體的話就用單數(shù),如果是單個(gè)的話則用復(fù)數(shù),有兩題例句是這樣的：
1.there is a knife and fork missing.
2.there are a light bulb and a screwdriver in the drawer.
第一句毋庸置疑是對的,但是第二句讓我不得其解,there be不是采取就近原則的嗎?是我錯(cuò)了還是書錯(cuò)了呢?
