1.I believe it doesn't matter so much whether to learn British English or American English.I've got some information about the difference between the two.However,I think it will not cause big problems in our communication in daily life.If it does cause misunderstanding,I am able to make others clear by using my body languge.Therefore,I don't think it matters what kind of English I learn.（不知道回答的方向對不對?是要問英式英語和美式英語嗎?還是我理解有偏差?）
2.As is known to all,English is widely used in most of the countries today.Even if it is not a mother tongue in some countries,people will frequently use it in international trade.And we can see that we are always using many abbreviations such as NBA,WTO,USA in our daily life.So,English has been an important tool of communication for people today.
