One day a poor man was cutting a big piece of wood near a river.Suddenly his old axe (斧子) fell into the water.He felt very sad because he lost his only axe.Then all at once a beautiful fairy (仙女) came out and asked the man what was the matter.
"I have lost my axe,"he said."It fell into the water when I was cutting the wood."
The fairy showed him a gold (金) axe and asked,"Is this yours?"
"No,"said the man.
The fairy then showed him a silver (銀) axe and asked again,"Is this yours?"
"No," again answered the man.
Then she showed him the old axe.
"Yes,that is mine," called out the happy man.
"I know it well enough," said the fairy,"I only wanted to see if you would tell me the truth,and now I'll give you the gold axe and the silver axe besides your own one."
從前有一個(gè)窮人正在河邊砍一大塊木頭.突然他一不小心讓他的舊斧子掉進(jìn)了河里.他為此非常傷心因?yàn)樗獊G了他唯一的斧子.接著一個(gè)美麗的仙女出現(xiàn)了,問(wèn)他發(fā)生了什么事情.
“我弄丟了我的斧子,”他回答說(shuō),“我用它砍木頭的時(shí)候?qū)⑺暨M(jìn)了河里.”
于是仙女拿出一個(gè)金斧子問(wèn)：“這是你的嗎?”
“不是.”窮人說(shuō).
然后仙女有拿出一個(gè)銀斧子問(wèn)：“那這個(gè)是你的嗎?”
“也不是.”窮人又回答.
于是仙女有拿出了一個(gè)舊斧子.
“哦,那是我的!”這個(gè)窮人高興地喊.
“我知道這對(duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)已經(jīng)足夠了,”仙女說(shuō),“我只想看看你是否能對(duì)我說(shuō)實(shí)話,既然這樣現(xiàn)在我要把金斧子、銀斧子和你的舊斧子都送給你.”
這個(gè)故事是教育人們要誠(chéng)實(shí),不貪心,就會(huì)有好報(bào).
