50.B 由第二段的開頭Refugees are people who run away from their homes to escape fighting, natural disasters,or danger because of their beliefs.

AT an age when she should be in school,Manyua,a 16-year-old Liberian (利比里亞的) girl, has to support her family in a refugee camp (營地).
Refugees are people who run away from their homes to escape fighting, natural disasters,or danger because of their beliefs.Manyua now lives with her elder brother and four-year-old sister in a mud hut (棚屋) in Sierra Leone, west Africa. They were forced to run away from their country three years ago after their father was killed in the fighting between rebel soldiers and government forces.Their mother had died a few years before. When their parents were alive,Manyua and her brother and sister lived like normal children. They went to school, came home and watched television.
Now,everything has changed. It's Manyua's responsibility(責(zé)任) to collect the firewood and water, taking care of her little sister and preparing all the meals. Her 18-year-old brother cannot help her because he is out working for money to keep the small family alive. These kids are just three of the 35 million people across the world who have had to escape their homes in fear of their lives.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR),more than a third of all the refugees in the world are young people between the ages of 12 and 24.More than 17 million are children under the age of 18.Many live in UNHCR camps. The rest,on the edges of cities,in villages,or far out in the countryside.
"They have lost everything. Many children have been separated from their parents. In their villages, they may have been able to go to school. But in the camps, they have to take care of younger sisters and brothers,or spend their time on housework," said UNHCR spokesperson Joung-Ah Ghedini.
Some will get to return to their homes once the fighting has stopped. But for many, the countries to which they escape, become their new homes.
