the reason why 和 the reason that/which 如果沒弄清,很容易混亂,要聯(lián)系句子意思.
the reason why ...意為 什么的原因,我為了圖省事,把why...當(dāng)成是reason的同位語,但實(shí)際上不是這樣.
the reason that/which 后跟修飾reason的定語從句,比如the reason he gave us 意為 他給我們的理由.
這樣看來,why和that/which都引導(dǎo)了reason的定語從句,就只好從句意上分析了.如果表示的是“做什么事的原因”之類,就用why；如果是“他給的原因”之類,就用that/which.
