English and Me
I have been studying English for 10 years since the autumn of 1998.Maybe it is not a long time,but I could say the total time will be longer as I will study the language through my whole life.
At autumn in 1998,I was enrolled in primary middle school where I received my first English class.In my memory,the teacher said “Good Morning,Class” in a soft voice and then gave us a beautiful smile.Maybe the sound voice and the smile were attracted me,so I was very interested in English.After the first class I worked hard at English and high scores were received as rewards.At that time in my opinion,English was not difficult,even a little easier than Chinese.But I was wrong.
After I entered the senior middle school,I was in trouble.My vocabulary was so small that I must read with the help of a dictionary.I did not know how to remember so many words with which I could read fluently.Three years has passed.My vocabulary was larger,but it is not enough to let me be good at English.I wish I could speak and listen to English as well as my teachers.
With that wish,I began my college life.If I want to become a bachelor,I must pass the College English Test Band 4,so I learned English harder.But there is no good result.I just passed the Band 4 and Band 6.Maybe it is enough for graduation,but it is not enough for my further study.English becomes a restriction on my way to reading foreign papers .Everyone says reading more is of help.I have been doing this.And I hope this method could be helpful.Except that,I will listen to English songs or watch English films,I think those will help me improve my listening.
