Mountaineering is the sport,hobby or pr ofession of walking,hiking,trekking and climbing up mountains.It is also someti mes known as alpinism,particularly in E urope.While it began as an all-out atte mpt to reach the highest point of unclim bed mountains,it has branched into spe cializations addressing different aspect s of mountains and may now be said to consist of three aspects:rock-craft,sno w-craft and skiing,depending on wheth er the route chosen is over rock,snow o r ice.All require gre at athletic and techn ical ability,and experience is also a very important part of the matter.
