Chinese New Year is called Spring Festival and it is one of the most important traditional festivals in China.In China,the calendar is based on the lunar year,thus the dates of the Spring Festival are different every year.In the lunar calendar,sixty years is a major cycle and twelve years are repeated.One year stands for one of the twelve animals (the Rat,the Ox,the Tiger,the Rabbit,the Dragon,the Snake,the Horse,the Sheep,the Monkey,the Rooster,the Dog,and the Pig).As Chinese people think highly of the reunion of family,so that it is tradition to spend New Year with family.
