這里的On reaching the village 是指到達村子以后,不是配合reach用的,而arrive at是固定搭配,reach本身就帶有arrive at的意思,不需要接任何的介詞.不過感覺上,(Upon) reaching the village會更加恰當(當我們們抵達村子后,就立即受到村子里的人熱情的歡迎).
