instead of "替代",重點詞在of上.它是個介詞,所以該加上名詞性結(jié)構(gòu),如名詞(短語) 代詞賓格 賓語從句等,但是介賓結(jié)構(gòu)也可以,尤其小心的是動詞該用動名詞形式,即Ving; rather than (是...)而不是...從語法角度上看它是個連詞,前后成分在形式上必須保持一致,所以后面的結(jié)構(gòu)應(yīng)該與前面保持一樣,就有可能出現(xiàn)代詞主格,動詞的各種形式,不一而足,但關(guān)鍵是和與它對比的結(jié)構(gòu)形式要一致!如:I'll go there instead of him.I rather than he(與I一致) will go there.再如:Yesterday he walked here instead of driving here.Yesterday he walked here rather than drove(與walked一致) here.
