Some people say it's the most exciting thing they have ever done in their lives. But other people say it's dangerous and silly. As is known,Bungee jumping has become very
popular in the USA,France,New Zealand and Australia nowadays.Every year, thousands of people dive 50 meters or more ------saved only by a "Bungee",a rubber cord(繩子)that stops them hitting the ground seriously.
Bungee jumping began in 1979 when two students from Oxford University,England, jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco,USA.Since then ,bungee jumping businesses have appeared in the USA and other places, although in some countries it is not allowed by law,for it is too dangerous. In the USA,bungee jumpers pay $ 80 or more to fall through the air at nearly 100 km an hour, risking their lives if the bungee cord breaks .
Emily Stead,a brave woman,is a bungee jumper who has survived many jumps."It's great " She says excitedly."I first went bungee jumping five years ago. Then,I jumped just 20 meters. My first jump was 50 meters---from a hot-air balloon. It's the best sport I have done."
