先行詞為one+of+復(fù)數(shù)名詞,英式英語要求定語從句的關(guān)系代詞應(yīng)和名詞的復(fù)數(shù)保持一致,即定語從句的謂語用復(fù)數(shù)形式,而美式英語要求關(guān)系代詞與one保持一致,謂語動詞用單數(shù),如果先行詞為the one of+復(fù)數(shù)名詞或the only one of +復(fù)數(shù)名詞時,定語從句的關(guān)系應(yīng) 和the one或the only one保持一致,即定語從句的謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式,先行詞為he ,I等代詞對其關(guān)系代詞的謂語分別用is和am,總而言之,關(guān)系代詞做主語時謂語用單數(shù)還是復(fù)數(shù)取決于它的先行詞是單數(shù)還是復(fù)數(shù).
例 She is one of the students who study English hard.她是努力學(xué)習(xí)英語的學(xué)生之一.
John is the only one of the staff members who is going to be transferred.
約翰是職員中唯一的將要調(diào)動的人.
It is he that is studying Russian,就是他在學(xué)俄語.
