Green house gases
Not all of the gases in the atmosphere trap heat oxygen and nitrogen are poor reflectors.Naturally occurring gases that trap heat in clued carbon dioxide,water vapour,methane,nitrous oxide and ozone.
Over the past 200 years or so,we have been rapidly adding to the natural gases [known as the green house gases] in the atmosphere and adding artificial gases that also trap heat.
Huge amounts of carbon dioxide are produced by car and factory fumes,methane is given off by the waste products of vast herds of cattle,and artificial gases such as CFCs trap more and more heat.If we keep adding to the greenhouse gases,it is feared the earth may have an average increase in temperature of up to 5 degrees over the next 50 years.
