In Padua,Kate was the oldest daughter of Baptist.She was a lady with such and ungovernable temper,so there were no men wanted to marry her.However,Paul was interested in this lady,be wanted to marry this famous shrew and to tame her into a gentle wife who would obey him.
After he married Kate,he started his plans to tame his shrewish wife.At first,he pretend to be a madman,he threw the meat on the floor to make Kate didn’t have anything to eat; he throw the bedclothes around the room so that she was forced to sit down in a chair.He also shouted his loudly so that Kate can not take a rest.At last,proud Kate begged Paul to give her some meat politely.Paul succeeded in making her wife started to obey him.
Then,Paul started his second plan.He promised Kate to bring her to see her father,but he ordered Kate to agree to everything he said.Whatever he wish to call it,that is what it is,otherwise,he won’t let her see her father.On the journey,Kate can also do it and obeyed to her husband more.
When they arrived,Kate’s father’s room,Paul thought Kate had become a obedient wife.Then,he betted with Luis,who was a husband of Kate’s sister.Paul also betted with Harry,the other newly married man.They betted on which wife was the most obedient.At first,Luis and Harry thought their wives must be more obedient than Paul’s wife.However,when Luis and Harry sent for their wives,their wives didn’t come and said they were very busy.However,when Paul’s ordered his wife to come,Kate came to Paul quickly and politely.
Therefore,Paul won the bet and gained many money.Finally,Kate became the most obedient wife in Padua.
