我本可以通過感傷世間百態(tài)來度日,但是我開始意識(shí)到“不同”并不壞,他們只是不同而已.把時(shí)間浪費(fèi)在感傷這些原本就無需改變的事物真是太傻了.如果我這樣做了,我就會(huì)無法享受這不俗人生的幸福所在.
相比較空蕩蕩的房子,我愿意用通過關(guān)懷這些需要照顧的人得到的充實(shí)的、意想不到的快樂去填滿它.我的房子充滿幽默.孩子在此快樂的成長起來.每個(gè)人都有改變情緒,使人歡笑的幽默感.
在最近一次從卡羅拉多的家去拜訪猶他的一家實(shí)話的路上,我的兩個(gè)較大的,已成人的兒子開始表演《怪物史萊克》的一個(gè)片段.
“你在那兒么?”一個(gè)兒子以純熟的驢的聲音問道?
“沒有,驢!” 另一個(gè)年長三歲的“史萊克”答道

I could spend my days grieving the difference of our life,but I've come to realize that being different isn't necessarily bad,and isn't just different.I could foolishly waste my time grieving things that cannot be changed,but when I do so,I fail to enjoy the happiness of our uncommon life.
Instead of emptying my home,I'm filling it with the rich and unexpected joys that come with looking after those with special needs.My home is filled with humor.My children have grown into happy people.Each has a funny sense of humor that lifts our spirits and makes us smile.
During a recent road trip from our home in Colorado to visit a family in Utah,my two large,adult sons began performing a part from the movie Shrek.
"Are we there yet " one son asked in a perfect donkey voice.
"No,donkey," replied our thirty-year-old Shrek.
As they continuted through the whole dialogue copying the voices,we laughed away the miles.
