English is like many other subjects.Some students may find it interesting and some may find it boring.I think the current education system should give students more choices and be more flexible.Students should be able to make their own decisions on which subjects they want to learn in college.It really depends on what a person wants in the future.If someone expects to work for a foreign company,it is quite important that he or she speaks/writes good English.However,for people who are just happy to work in a small to medium local company,it is not necessary to speak/write English that well.Rather,these people should spend more time on the areas which interest them and can benefit their future better while they are in college.Nevertheless,I agree that English should be learnt in primary and junior schools so everyone has the basic knowledge on the language.
