Many companies now advertise their products and sevices on the Internet ,and use it to find new staff.Figures published yesterday show that more and more people are also using it privately.
One person in five already uses the Internet regularly at home.Internet shopping is increasing fast and more people are using Internet banking services or booking their holidays on-line than last year.A lot of people say they also write private e-mails and surf the Internet at work.
The figures also show that more men use the Internet than women.Just over half of all users are men.35%women and 14%children.And it isn's only young people who surf the net these days.A tenth of all users are the over-55 age group ,the so-called"silver surfers".
