于是,它問東海爺爺：“東海爺爺,為什么東海那么遼闊還那么深呢?”東海爺爺告訴它：“我以前也是一粒小水滴,我和許多伙伴們?nèi)找共煌５乇剂?小伙伴匯集融合在一起,就成了一條小溪,但我們沒有停止腳步,繼續(xù)日夜不停的地向前奔流,然后又成了江河,最后許多江河匯集在一起,就成了大海,形成了現(xiàn)在的東海.”小水滴又問：“我們真的有那么大的力量嗎?可以變成小溪,變成江河,變成大海嗎?”東海爺爺回答道：“當然可以啦!不積小流無以成江河,所以你們都可以成為大海的.還有,成海以后,不要忘記小水滴的存在,更不要輕視小水滴的力量,它可是我們生命的源泉啊!沒有它,就沒有我們.”
小水滴記住了東海爺爺?shù)脑?最后終于成為了著名的南海.
