Realize與recognize的用法辨析
兩個詞都有“認(rèn)識、識別”的意思,但在具體用法上又有所差別.
1．Realize作為及物動詞,可以表達(dá)“認(rèn)識到；了解”的意思.如：
He didn’t realize his mistake until his mother told him.
直到媽媽告訴他,他才認(rèn)識到自己的錯誤.
I didn’t realize how late it was.我沒有意識到天已經(jīng)那么晚了.
She realizes now how hard you worked.現(xiàn)在她了解你工作得多辛苦.

2．realize還可以表示“實(shí)現(xiàn)；完成”的意思.如：
The girl finally realized her dream of becoming an actress.

3．recognize也可以用作及物動詞,表示“認(rèn)出；辯認(rèn)；認(rèn)識”的意思.如：
I recognized his voice.我認(rèn)出了他的聲音.
I recognized her as my friend’s daughter.我認(rèn)出她是我朋友的女兒.
4．recognize還可以表示“清楚知道；認(rèn)定”的意思.如：
I recognized him to be cleverer than I am.我認(rèn)識到他比我聰明.
I recognize that she works harder than I do.我認(rèn)識到她比我用功.
5．recognize還可以表示“承認(rèn)”的意思.如：
I recognize that I have been wrong.我承認(rèn)我錯了.
They refused to recognize this government.他們拒不承認(rèn)這個政府.
understand 是理解,明白的意思
例I can understand your means,我理解、明白你的意思.
Tell的用法：
1 告訴
tell sb sth=tell sth to sb 告訴某人某事
2 命令（吩咐）
tell sb to do sth 叫某人做某事
tell sb not to do sth 讓某人不做某事
3顯露
sth tell(s) sth
4分辨、看出
tell sth from/apart sth
例：In the way he walked I could tell that something was wrong with his leg.
與in the way they all glared I could see how they'd come to hate my guts.用法相同
