DVD的全稱,在誕生之初是Digital Video Disc（數(shù)字視頻光盤）,目前則稱為“Digital Versatile Disc”,即“數(shù)字通用光盤”,是CD/LD/VCD的后繼產(chǎn)品.DVD從1994年下半年提出初步規(guī)格到1996年年初樣機(jī)的出現(xiàn)只用了一年多的時(shí)間,可謂發(fā)展迅速,是娛樂業(yè)公認(rèn)的新一代標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的存儲(chǔ)技術(shù).而且,計(jì)算機(jī)業(yè)對(duì)其做出的反應(yīng)也十分積極.
