Your primary work will be to perform animal ischemia model MCAO,then give animal a novel mutant Erythropoitein,which was generated in our laboratory,then determine whether this novel erythropoietin can induce angiogenesis and neurogenesis and enhance neurological functional recovery.This is a very interesting project that may have clinical application potential.Also neurogenesis is a very promising area in neuroscience field.Actually our preliminary studies showed that this novel mutant erythropoietin has angiogenesis and neurogenesis effect,but without blood-stimulating side effect,so it’s a perfect neuroprotectant/neurorecovery drug.
