1 這里面的and都是并列用法,沒(méi)有連詞作用.第一行的and of dark里面的of不能去掉,表示后面的dark,narrow streets……是和monstrous edifices并列,都做consist的賓語(yǔ).
2 torn by the noise of the taxicabs,lorries and buses,and thronged ceaselessly by great crowds是定語(yǔ)從句,形容the modern city.把 2 恢復(fù)為定于從句原型的話是不是 the modern city which is torn by。。。 and 前有個(gè)逗號(hào)，這讓我感覺(jué)像是連詞呢？ 是因?yàn)?定語(yǔ)過(guò)長(zhǎng)所以后置了是吧？對(duì)，你理解得很對(duì)，torn和thronged是并列的，and前的逗號(hào)是可有可無(wú)的。
