1. whosever 是關(guān)系代詞型連接,相當于“先行詞 + 關(guān)系代詞 whose”,在本句中既是介詞 to 的賓語,又是name 的定語.因此,Remember to return it to (whosever) name is on it 可以改寫為——
Remember to return it to (the man whose) name is on it.（不要忘記把它歸還給上面寫著名字的那個人【他的名字在上面的那個人】）

另如：

除此之外,what,whatever,whoever都可以用作關(guān)系代詞型連接詞.例如：

【= I don’t understand (everything that) you were saying just now.】
* Whatever is left over is yours. 剩下來的所有的都是你的.
【= (Everything that) is left over is yours.】

A. during the night表示“在天黑期間”
B. by the night 表示“到將來或過去的某個夜間為止”,因此只用于將來完成時或過去完成時,如It will have started by the night（將在天黑以前開始）或 It had started by the night（在天黑以前已經(jīng)開始）
C. from the night 表示從“黑夜開始下雪”,但是 start 是瞬間動詞,不能持續(xù)發(fā)生.
D. 在晚上只能說at night,不能加定冠詞說成by the night.

3. 原題有錯,應(yīng)該把expert改為expect

1）expect 以及 think,believe,suppose,imagine 幾個動詞,如果要否定它們后面的賓語從句,否定詞必須轉(zhuǎn)移到主句的這類動詞前,因此“I didn't expect that …” 意思是“我原來認為不是那樣”,而不是“我原來不認為是那樣”.
2）it was as wonderful是同級比較as wonderful as I had expected about it 的省略；即“我原以為它沒有（像我期待的）那樣精彩”,言外之意是“事實上很精彩”.
