集合名詞作主語時,謂語的形式要與主語的概念一致.舉個例子：
Our group are visiting the meseum next week.(我組全體成員）
Our group is assigned to take the first bus.(我們小組）
某些集合名詞如：audience,firm, class ,government, party, board, couple, crew, committee, family, public, team, group 等既可作單數(shù),也可作復(fù)數(shù).當(dāng)一個集合名詞可看成各個成員是,謂語用復(fù)數(shù)；看作整體時,謂語用單數(shù).例：
The average family is a great deal smaller than it used to be.(家庭）
My family are going with me.(家人）
