山不在高,有仙則名.水不在深,有龍則靈.斯是陋室,惟吾德馨.苔痕上階綠,草色入簾青.談笑有鴻儒,往來(lái)無(wú)白丁.可以調(diào)素琴,閱金經(jīng).無(wú)絲竹之亂耳,無(wú)案牘之勞形.南陽(yáng)諸葛廬,西蜀子云亭.孔子云：“何陋之有?”

山不在于有多高,有了仙人就成了名山；水不在于有多深,有了龍就成為靈異的（水）了.這是簡(jiǎn)陋的屋子,只是我（住屋的人）的品德高尚（屋子就不顯得簡(jiǎn)陋了）.苔痕碧綠,長(zhǎng)到階上,草色青蔥,映入簾里.平時(shí)和我來(lái)往的都是博學(xué)的人,沒(méi)平民.可以彈奏不加裝飾的古琴,閱讀佛經(jīng).沒(méi)有嘈雜的奏樂(lè)聲來(lái)擾亂我的耳朵,沒(méi)有官府的公文我讓的身體感到勞累.南陽(yáng)諸葛亮的草廬,西蜀揚(yáng)子云(西漢辭賦家揚(yáng)雄)的亭子.孔子說(shuō)：有什么簡(jiǎn)陋的呢?
