The main part of the digital image processing research
was carried out using the authors’ own software.In this
program,recorded changes in phase concentration distributionwere
analysed.The program allows the .ow structureto
be analysedinanypartofthe.lmandatanytime.Byusing
a suitable size of zone—probe (it is possible to adjust the
area of the probe and the choice of single and multiple
probe)—analysisofthe mostinterestingpartofthe.owwas
possible.The result of this analysis was a two-or three-
dimensional matrix of data(depending on the probe used)
representing the sequence of grey levelchanges.Inthe area
of the probe,the mean grey level was counted.Obtained
greylevel valuesinthe range0–255 were included,where0
is white and 255 is black.A zero value can be treated as
100per cent gas phase (fully transparent).On the other
hand,a value of 255 is a pure solid phase (black) in the
.uidization process.The liquid phase has muchlower grey
level values than the solid phase[3].
The dynamics of change during two-phase .ow was
denoted as a function of grey level rate in the time
domain.The unit was frames.Knowing the frequency
rate of the video camera recording,which was 25Hz,this
rate was calculated in seconds,and the new received unit
was 1 frame.0.04s.The results of the analysis were
converted into graphicalform.
