neither ...nor...意為不……也不……
（1）neither可與of構(gòu)成短語,做主語時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用單數(shù),如
Neither of the two boys is a student.這兩個(gè)男孩都不是學(xué)生.
（2）neither做定語,與單數(shù)名詞連用,如
We saw neither side could win.我們知道雙方都不能贏
但是neither...nor...可與復(fù)數(shù)名詞連用
Neither bird nor beasts would have the bat as their friend.鳥和獸都不把蝙蝠當(dāng)作朋友.
either...or...以為或者……或者……
（1）either之兩者中的任意一個(gè),如
Here are two novels.You may read either.這兒有兩本小說,你可以讀任何一本.
（2）either一般與單數(shù)名詞連用,如
Here are two apples,you can take either.這兒有兩個(gè)蘋果,你可拿任何一個(gè).
但either...or...可與復(fù)數(shù)名詞連用,如
You can get either these apples or those bananas.
還可以連接兩個(gè)句子,如
Either you are mad,or I am.要么是你發(fā)瘋了,要么是我發(fā)瘋了.
