黃河是我國(guó)第二長(zhǎng)河,世界第五長(zhǎng)河,源于青海巴顏喀拉山,干流貫穿九個(gè)省、自治區(qū),流經(jīng)青海、四川、甘肅、寧夏、內(nèi)蒙古、陜西、山西、河南、山東,全長(zhǎng)5464公里, 流域面積75萬(wàn)平方公里,年徑流量574億立方米,平均徑流深度79米.但水量不及珠江大,沿途匯集有35條主要支流,較大的支流在上游,有湟水、洮河,在中游有清水河、汾河、渭河、沁河,下游有伊河、洛河.兩岸缺乏湖泊,黃河下游流域面積很小,流入黃河的河流很少.黃河的入海口河寬1500米,一般為500米,較窄處只有300米,水深一般為2.5米,有的地方深度只有1.2～1.3米.
