Should graduation thesis be cancelled for college students?
I think graduation thesis should not be mandatory for college students (here college students refer to undergraduates),here are my arguments:
First of all,college students have been tested numerous times during their four years in school,is it really necessary to set another big problem for them during the time when they are either busy hunting for a job or preparing for postgraduate exams?After all,today’s college students are valued more for their practical ability rather than premature research findings.
Secondly,let’s look at the current condition,instances are not rare of college students being accused of plagiarism,which is actually regarded by many students are a norm rather than an exception,by making graduation thesis compulsory,we’re driving students to cross the line of moral impropriety.And nothing of particular value can be generated by stealing others ideas.
Last but not least,those who have an aptitude for research can still choose to write a thesis even if it is not a required task,the world always respects original thoughts,and a paper that is well received by the academic circle will be the highlight of one’s resume and greatly facilitate his job-hunting tour.All after,no pains no gains.
