1．No（沒有）是形容詞,常位于名詞前,用來否定這個名詞.有時no否定名詞時,可理解為這個名詞的反義詞,意思是“并非”.
（1）I have no ink．我沒有墨水.不可說：I have not ink．
（2）There are no clouds in the sky．天上沒有云.
（3）He is no fool．＝He is clever．他很精明.比較：He is not a fool．他不是傻子.
2．No用于形容詞、副詞的比較級前,意思是“并不,毫不”.
We went no farther than the bridge．我們走到橋邊就不再往前走了.
3．用于加強語氣.
I don’t believe it．No,not I．我不相信這事,不,我才不相信哩!
4．用于表示驚奇、懷疑或不信.
He left yesterday．No．他昨天走了,
5．用于委婉說法,“并非”.
in no small measure在不小的程度上
6．有時no ＝not at all,意思是“完全不是,決不是”.
（1）His father is no teacher．他的父親決不是教師.（比較：His father is not a teacher．他的父親不是教師.）
（2）It is no easy task．這根本不是輕而易舉的工作.（比較：It is not an easy task．這工作不容易.）
（3）It is no joke．這決不是開玩笑的事.（即：這是一件正經事.比較：It is not a joke．這不是玩笑.）
7．在“No＋動名詞”的省略句中,表示“禁止,不準”的意思.這時,不能用“not any”代替“no”.
No smoking!禁止吸煙!
No spitting on the floor!不要隨地吐痰!
二、Not的用法
1．Not（不）是副詞,用于動詞和助動詞之后.
（1）That TV set is not here．那臺電視機不在這里.
（2）I can not go out．我不能出去.
（3）I don’t think so．我不那樣認為.
2．Not用于形容詞、副詞之前,表示委婉的說法.在漢語中,用單重否定句,即只用一個否定詞來表示.與肯定句相比,語氣弱些,但如果它同肯定句并用,用否定襯托肯定,那么作者要肯定的意思就會表現(xiàn)得十分鮮明.
（1）This movie isn’t bad．這部電影不錯.
（2）The door was not a long time opening．不一會兒,門開了.
（3）not too well身體（情況）不太好
