Louis Braille,a Frenchman,became blind when he was three.Atthe age of ten,he entered a special school for blind children There he was taught a new way of reading for the blind,using,raised leters on paper.but this was a slow way to read,and it did not help the blind to write.In 1819,a French soldier invented a special writing called”night writing”.there were twelve dots in night writing.In 1824,Braille came across night writing and began to change it for the blind .He used six dots instead of twelve.Letter are made by using one or more dots.In this way ,Braille was able to use the six dots for all twenty-sixletter.This writing is now known as Braille and it was first used in 1892.Since then ,it has been used with many of the world 's languages.During Louis Braille invented this writing,the build could not read and write.Many lived in hospital and knew nothing about the world outside.His work has nhelped them to see the world throught their fingers.
