Luis Soriano is a primary school teacher in Colombia.He learned that many children in poor villages didn’t have the chance to go to school.Part of the reason was that their families couldn’t pay for their studies.Also,the schools were often many miles away,so they had no way to get there.
So,he thought of a solution.He asked his donkeys1 to help him.Twice a week,he prepared2 120 children’s books and set off with his donkeys.He usually traveled to 15 different places.He always traveled several hours to reach these places.Children were very excited when they saw Soriano.
Though Soriano’s journey to each village was long,he took the time at each place to stay with the children.He also helped them with their homework and gave them a chance to borrow some books.
Soriano had a lot of problems when he traveled to lend books to these children.But he didn’t want to stop.He believed that the books were helpful to the children.In his eyes,knowledge can influence one’s whole life."I hope these books can help these children to become good,useful people."
