1.Generation Gap
Nowadays, there is often a lack of understanding between parents and children. Children always complain that their parents are out of date, while parents can’t approve of what their children say and do. Thus, a big generation gap is formed.
The gap remains wide for many reasons. Children want to be free to choose their own friends, select their own classes in school, plan their own future, earn and spend their own money, and generally run their own life in a more independent way than many parents allow. Also, young children wish to be understood by their parents, but most parents don’t quite understand their children. They regard it as their responsibility to teach their offspring traditional beliefs. They want them to be obedient and do well in school. Therefore, misunderstanding often arise from parents’ tendency to interfere in children’s daily activities.
In my opinion, most problems between parents and children could be solved by joint efforts of both sides to enhance mutual understanding.
代溝如今,父母和子女之間經(jīng)常缺乏溝通.子女經(jīng)常抱怨父母過時了;而父母并不贊同子女的言行.于是一個很大的代溝就產(chǎn)生了. 產(chǎn)生代溝的原因有很多.子女希望過比父母允許的更獨立的生活:自由的選擇自己的朋友;在學(xué)校里自由的選擇自己的社團;自由的描繪自己的將來;自由的支配自己的花費.當(dāng)然年輕的子女們也希望能夠得到父母的理解.但是并不是大多數(shù)的父母都能夠理解他們的孩子,他們認為教育他們的后代樹立傳統(tǒng)的信仰是他們應(yīng)有的責(zé)任,他們希望子女在家里能夠孝順,在學(xué)校能夠好好學(xué)習(xí).于是,不理解就往往從父母打算干涉子女的日常生活中產(chǎn)生了.
我認為:父母和子女間的代溝問題可以通過雙方相互理解來共同解決.
Generation gap is a concept which means a lack of understanding and communication between parents and children. Children always complain that their parents do not understand them while parents worry about their children's behaviours and ideas.
Why does there exist a generation gap between the children and the parents? Firstly, people who live in different time have different viewpoints towards social customs and tradition. For example, parents who were born in 1950's are very surprised at the fashion in 1990's. Secondly, the parents and children seldom sit down together to talk or communicate with each other equally. If they do so, the gap will be narrowed, If not, it will widen. In most cases, the parents often blame the children's behaviour or style of clothes instead of caring about their thoughts. Thirdly, the children want to be more independent, but the parents still want to take children under their wings.
To ease the problem and bridge the generation gap, parents should treat their children as friends and try to understand the feelings and thoughts of the young. Meanwhile, children should respect their parents and think of the problems from their parents'viewpoint. Furthermore, the parents should keep study and catch up with the development of the fashion. In this way, they will understand their children's behaviour. Work together, the problem will be solved.

The generation gap, puts briefly is the psychic distance which because the disparity in age level person in the thought idea disparity creates. So looked like that, appears the generation gap is natural, does not have the generation gap is unnatural on the contrary, therefore, the generation gap phenomenon easily was also understood by the human. But the generation gap is after all a difficulty which the puzzle exchanges and communicates, moreover easy to increase forms the prejudice and the discrimination possibility, the generation gap both sides person light then did not understand mutually, the heavy piece holds the hostility, therefore we also must make each kind through all sorts of ways to surmount the generation gap diligently, to level the generation gap. Actually, the generation gap also was not one physical existence, but is one kind of psychological existence, the contact, may let the psychological relation which between the generation and the generation once broke continue, thus achieved the exchange smooth and was together harmony.
代溝,簡單地說就是不同年齡層次的人因思想觀念上的差距造成的心理距離.就象溝一樣,隔開了一代一代的人,影響兩代人之間的理解和溝通.但是到了新世紀(jì),代溝不僅存在于上一代與下一代之間,而且在年齡相隔10年、8年的人們之間,甚至在大學(xué)的高年級與低年級之間,都會有令人驚嘆的明顯差異.人們常常說,代溝是時間的痕跡,變革的腳步.如此看來,出現(xiàn)代溝是自然的,沒有代溝反倒是不自然的,所以,代溝現(xiàn)象也容易被人理解. 但代溝畢竟是困擾交流與溝通的難點,而且容易增加形成偏見和歧視的可能性,代溝兩側(cè)的人輕則互不理解,重則抱有敵意,所以我們也要通過種種途徑作各種努力來跨越代溝、填平代溝.其實,代溝也并不是一種物理存在,而是一種心理存在,接觸,可以讓代與代之間曾經(jīng)斷裂的心理聯(lián)系接續(xù)起來,從而達到交流的順暢和相處的和諧.
