One of the books I like is called A Study in Scarlet, and it was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.The main character, Sherlock Holmes, is a brilliant detective whose ideas, methods, and energy have amazed the world. But Holmes's intelligence is not the only reason I like the book. I like him for his lifestyle. He is a very passionate person. He does not just obsess over the necessities of daily life, but also thinks about higher things. He has his own philosophy, and he follows it even though he must give up some other pleasures. I do not idolize Mr. Holmes, but I admire his courage and his single-minded pursuit of his dreams.
