情態(tài)動詞[ shall ]除了當(dāng)一般的助動詞來使用外,本身還有其他意思,逐一描述如下：
[ shall ]用在談到提議、建議.(offer or suggestion)
1.You look thirsty.Shall I get you some water?
= You look thirsty.Should I get you some water?
2.Shall we see Mr.Johnson next Saturday?
3.Shall we buy a birthday’s gift for Diana?
4.Shall we go for a walk after dinner?
= Would you like to go for a walk after dinner?
= How about a walk after dinner?
5.Shall he give you a call?( X )
注意：
1) 這是英式用法,美式用法會用[ Should ]、[ Would you like ]或[ How about ](請參考第1與4個例句).
2) 由[ Shall ]引導(dǎo)的問句,其意愿都是來第一人稱[ I,We ],所以會用第一人稱[ I,We ]當(dāng)主詞(第5個例句).
[ shall ]用在第一人稱的預(yù)期.
1.I shall (or should) go to Nanjing in April.
2.We should (or shall) like to work in Shanghai .
3.We should (or shall) be glad to have our parents take care of our children.
