奧巴馬家訓
America's "First Daughters," 12-year-old Malia and9-year-old Sasha Obama,are not really different from most kids.They even have a set of rules at home with their parents.
美國的"第一女兒",今年12 歲的瑪麗亞和9歲的薩莎奧巴馬,與大多數(shù)孩子不同,在家里她們的父母對她們約法三章.
Malia and Sasha must do teo thinfs before going to sleep and after getting up:set ther alarm clock and make the bed.these are trivial things but do make sense if kids want to learn to stand on their own feet.
在睡前和起床后,瑪麗亞和薩莎必須做兩件事:定鬧鐘和整理被褥.這些雖是小事,但卻對孩子學會獨立生活很有意義.
Do your parents pay you money for your help with housework?the answer may be"no.".however,obama does pay his daoghters $1 per week for helping do the housework.As the saying goes,"no pian,no gain."
如果你幫忙做家務(wù)活,你的父母付錢給你嗎?答案可能是"不".不過,奧巴馬每周卻為他的女兒們所做的家務(wù)活付酬1美元.正如俗話所說,"沒有付出,就沒有收獲".
Obama does not think it necessary to give gifts,especially expensive ones,to his daughters.Why?Because he hopes that Malia and Sasha will keep a cool head while others are showing off expensive gifts on their birthdays.Festivals without gifts are simpler and purer.
奧巴馬認為不必送禮物給女兒,尤其是昂貴禮物給.這是為什么呢?因為他希望,當瑪麗亞和薩莎看到其他孩子炫耀其昂貴的生日禮物時能保一顆平常心.而沒有禮物的節(jié)日會更顯得簡單、淳樸.
Malia an Sasha are also advised to take " an active part in afer-school activities." It is not about how outstanding they are in such activities,but about enjoying life to the fullest.
瑪麗亞和薩莎還被（父母）教導積極參加課外活動.這并非是為了（讓她們）在這樣的活動中展示自己的才華如何如何,而是通過這些活動（讓她們）盡可能地去享去受生活（的樂趣）.
