辨與析] the other,another,others,the others
the other意為the second of the two,指兩者中的另一個(gè),系特指,常與one連用.例如：
There are two kinds music in the world —— one is written down and the other is not.世界上有兩種音樂,一種是用筆記錄下來的,而另一種則不是.
The guard looked inside one boot,then the other.衛(wèi)兵朝一只靴子里邊瞧了瞧,然后又看另一只.
another意為one more或a different one,指三個(gè)以上的人或物中除去以知部分后“余下部分中的某一個(gè)”,非特指.例如：
I don’t like this pen.Please show me another.這支鋼筆我不喜歡,請給我另外一支.
others意為some of the rest,所指的是三個(gè)以上的人或物中除去以知部分后“余下部分中的某一些”,非特指.
I don’t like these.Please let me see some others.我不喜歡這些,請另外給我一些瞧瞧.
When we talk with others we make ourselves understood not just by words.當(dāng)我們與他人交談時(shí),并不僅僅靠語言來使別人了解你.
Ten of us are from Chongqingand others are from Chengdu.我們中間有10人來自重慶,其余的有些來自成都.（注：還有些來自成渝兩地以外的地方.）
the others意為all of the rest,指三個(gè)以上的人或物中除去以知部分以后“余下部分中的全部”,系特指.例如：
Ten of us are from Chongqing,and the others are from Chengdu.我們中間有10人來自重慶,其余的（都）來自成都.（注：要么來自重慶,要么來自成都.）
Three of you go there,and the others stay here.你們之中有三個(gè)到那邊去,其余的全待在這兒.
“this”、“that”既可以作形容詞,又可以作指示代詞；而“it”只能作代詞.one可用數(shù)詞又可作代詞.
指“物”
1.“this”指近物,“that”指遠(yuǎn)物,“it”沒有遠(yuǎn)近之分.如：
This is a computer.這是一臺(tái)電腦.（在近處）
That is a bike.那是一輛自行車.（在遠(yuǎn)處）
2.在回答“this”和“that”作主語的疑問句時(shí),常用“it”代替“this”和“that”.如：
－Is this/that a car?這/那是一輛小汽車嗎?
－Yes,it is./No,it isn′t.是的,它是./不,它不是.
－What′s this/that?這/那是什么?
－It′s a ruler.這/那是一把尺子.
3.陳述在一起的兩樣?xùn)|西時(shí),應(yīng)先說“this”,后說“that”.如：
This is a book.That is a pen.這是一本書,那是一枝鋼筆.
4.one與it的區(qū)別
one指代上文提到過的同類事物中的一個(gè),但不是上文提到的那一個(gè)事物.如果指同類事物中的一些,要用ones.如：
This apple is small.Please give me a big one.
這個(gè)蘋果小,請給我一個(gè)大的.
These books are mine.Those ones are Lily's.
這些書是我的,那些書是莉莉的.
it指代前文中提到過的那一個(gè)事物.如：
My bike is very old,but I like it very much.
我的自行車很舊,但我很喜歡它.
Where is my new pen?I can't find it.
我的新鋼筆在哪兒?我找不到它了.
few,a few,little,a little
雖然都表示“少”,但
（1）few,a few是可數(shù)的,little,a little是不可數(shù)的.
（2）a few,a little含肯定意味,few,little含否定意味.這里所謂的“肯定意味”和“否定意味”應(yīng)該這樣來理同樣是半杯水,口渴者會(huì)認(rèn)為：There is little water in the glass.而不口渴的人則會(huì)認(rèn)為：There is a little water in the glass.
一：
1．few修飾可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù).
2．few (= not many; hardly any)含否定意義；a few (= some; several; a small
number of) 含肯定意義.
3． not a few = no few = quite a few = a good few = many.
4． 當(dāng) few受 every,last,past,next,some,very等詞所修飾時(shí),表示肯定意義,few之前不再有冠詞.如：
In the last few minutes,he checked up his paper again.
It took us some few days to repair the machine.
They are very few in number.
There were too few of them.
He goes to see his grandma every few weeks.
5． 在非正式文體中很少見,一般用或代替,如：
Only a few people attended the meeting.
另外,little / a little
Little remains to be done about it.(作主語)
A little remains to be done.
Please give me a little.(作賓語)
He knows a little of everything.
There is very / but little time left.(作定語)
Don’t worry; you still have a little time.
1． little修飾不可數(shù)名詞,表示“量”.
2． little含否定意義(反義詞：much)；a little含肯定意義(反義詞：none).
3． 在非正式英語中,一般很少用little,常用not much,only a little來代替,如：
We haven’t got much money / time.
some time 是名詞短語,意思是一段時(shí)間,可以用于過去時(shí)或者將來時(shí)
sometime 是副詞,表示某個(gè)時(shí)候,也可以用于過去式或?qū)頃r(shí)
some times 是幾次的意思
sometimes是副詞,是有時(shí)得意思,指時(shí)常,有時(shí)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作或事情.
例子：1.He will stay in Britain for some time.
2.Let's have a dinner together sometime next week.
3.Itried some times,but I couldn't do it.
4.Sometimes we are busy and sometimes we are not.
