The advantages of extensive reading
Francis Bacon wrote in Of Studies ‘studies serve for delight,for ornament,and for ability.Their chief use for delight,is in privateness and retiring; for ornament,is in discourse; and for ability,is in the judgment,and disposition of business.’ Those are the advantages in the eyes of him.For me,it also brings me three kinds of advantages.
Firstly,I can enrich my experience through extensive reading.It opens a window for me to understand and appreciate the colorful outside world so that I even don’t need to step out of my room.
Secondly,I can speak to and communicate with famous philosophers,writers,politicians and artists through their essays and descriptions.The process cultivates my soul and pushes me closer to the truth we human beings always seek.
Thirdly,extensive reading makes a full man.Obsessed with the stories,I don't necessarily have to suffer the feeling of something lost or empty.　The joy derived from palying computer games can not compared with that derived from reading.
In a word,I enjoy the process of reading and the adventages it brings.
