make efforts to do sth 努力做某事為什么要把exist 去掉呢，它本來就是要表達“沒有希望”的意思，而且我覺得不能用there is no hope來表示沒有希望吧，應該是there is no hope to do sth ,所以把there is no hope exists 改為there is no hope existing不可以嗎？還有making any efforts 一定要加固定搭配嗎，不可以直接作為一個動名詞詞組作there be 句型的主語？因為沒有上下文，只能憑語感了，下文是there is no use of making any efforts to do sth，那么there is no hope +介詞+ving比較合理。是不是可以理解為there is no hope （of making any efforts to do sth） and there is no use of making any efforts to dosth 。沒有希望和沒有希望存在，這個存在其實是多余的，符合中文習慣，不符合英文習慣，加existing視乎是多余的。僅供參考。
